
To start the Internet Connection Wizard you can either go to START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, COMMUNICATIONS & click on the Internet Connection Wizard or CLICK HERE to start the program ALREADY contained on your Hard Disk Drive. It's part of your operating system from Microsoft. Please note: if using the link above, two screens will appear and you need to follow the instructions below.

Choose the option 'Run this program from it's current location' and click on the 'OK button'

Now click on the 'Yes' button. Remember this program is already installed on your PC and being run from your own Hard Disk Drive so there's no cause for concern about the screen message. |
Now choose the third option: 'I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN).' To continue, click the 'Next' button TIP: If you're new to the Internet, you may like to learn more about the Internet and click on the Tutorial button before continuing. |
Leave the default selection as 'I connect through a phone line and modem' Now click the 'Next' button. |
In the field labeled Telephone number: Type the number supplied to you by Hotkey as your dial in for Internet access. Now remove the tick from the box labled 'Use area code and dialing rules' by clicking once on it. Press the 'Next' buttonClick the underlined link Hotkey dial up numbers for a complete listing. Please ensure this is a local call charge for you. Your phone account is seperate from your Internet and solely your responsibility. |
In the field labeled 'User name:' type the Login ID : given to you by Hotkey. In the field labeled 'Password' type the password as supplied to you by Hotkey.TIP: The password must contain at least one number and can only be between 6 & 8 letters long. |
Now type the name for your connection 'Hotkey' and click Next to continue. |
You do not need to change any of your email configuration, therefore you can select "No" when asked if you want to set up your Internet mail account. |
Congratulations! You've set up your computer for access to Hotkey Internet and are now ready to connect. Simply click on the Finish button to begin surfing the net. |
