Cannon
arrives

The
legendary
cherry-tree
cannon,
used
by
the
Macedonian
rebels
during
Ilinden
Uprising
in
1903,
was
handed
over
Friday
afternoon
to
Defense
Minister
Vlado
Buckovski
at
a
formal
ceremony.
Upon
an
agreement
between
the
Macedonian
and
Turkish
governments,
the
cannon
has
been
given
to
Macedonia
for
three
months
period
in
honor
of
the
100th
Ilinden
anniversary.
"This
is
the
crown
of
the
few-month
efforts
of
the
Ministries
of
Culture,
Foreign
Affairs
and
Defense.
Arrival
of
the
cannon
will
enrich
the
Ilinden
celebration,"
Buckovski
said,
extending
gratitude
to
the
Turkish
Government.
