Hungary
will
politically
support
the
Republic
of
Macedonia
in
its
efforts
for
membership
in
the
EU
and
NATO.
This
has
been
stressed
at
today's
joint
press
conference
of
the
Macedonian
and
Hungarian
Presidents
Boris
Trajkovski
and
Ferenz
Madl.
President
Trajkovski
informed
the
Hungarian
President
on
the
current
security
and
political
situation
in
the
country,
which
is
very
much
different
from
the
one
in
2001
as
well
as
on
the
interior
consolidation
of
the
country.
Both
Presidents
discussed
the
cooperation
in
the
field
of
defence,
Partnership
for
Peace,
SECI
and
CEI
initiatives.
They
mutually
concluded
that
the
economic
cooperation
is
not
on
satisfying
level
and
agreed
on
engagement
of
state
organs
for
its
intensifying
especially
on
production
sphere.
Trajkovski
and
Madl
discussed
also
the
alleviation
of
the
visa
regime.
Hungarian
President
promised
to
get
interested
for
the
problems
in
regard
to
the
work
of
MATAV
in
Macedonia.
Hungarian
President
Wednesday
afternoon
will
also
meet
with
President
of
the
Parliament
Nikola
Popovski
and
VMRO-DPMNE
leader
Nikola
Gruevski.
On
Thursday,
Hungarian
President
will
meet
with
the
Prime
Minister
Branko
Crvenkovski.
Hungarian
President
will
also
attend
the
Regional
Forum
on
Dialogue
Among
Civilisations,
which
will
be
held
on
August
29-30
in
Ohrid
under
the
auspices
of
the
President
Trajkovski
and
UNESCO
Director
General
Koichiro
Matsuura.
