"Macedonia
is
in
a
phase
of
radical
reforms
of
the
security
and
defense
systems.
We
are
faced
with
the
necessity
to
overcome
the
lacks
confirmed
in
the
previous
period
and
to
build
up
a
security
and
defense
system,
which
will
be
adapted
to
the
global
changes,
needs
and
resources
of
our
country,"
Macedonian
Minister
of
Defense
Vlado
Buckovski
said
Friday
at
the
promotion
of
officers
who
attended
the
Macedonian
Army
(ARM)
non-commissioned
officers'
course.
"The
Government's
basic
priority
is
building
of
a
security
and
defense
system
capable
to
face
the
challenges,"
said
Buckovski
in
his
address
at
"Aleksa
Demnievski
-
Bauman"
military
barracks
in
Veles.
Buckovski
congratulates
the
new
officers
for
successful
completion
of
the
course
and
greeted
the
new
recruits
of
the
January's
generation.
"Today's
celebration
presents
a
confirmation
of
a
successful
realization
of
the
Defense
Ministry's
projects,
which
lead
the
country
to
the
collective
security
systems,"
Buckovski
said,
reminding
that
the
Defense
Ministry,
in
accordance
with
the
governmental
policy
for
full
implementation
of
the
Framework
Agreement,
carried
out
the
Action
plan
on
equitable
representation
of
ethnic
communities
in
ARM.
Buckovski
pointed
out
that
Ministry
of
Defense
and
ARM
tried
to
promote
"a
new
philosophy
of
living",
which
will
enable
Macedonia's
citizens,
regardless
of
their
ethnic
origin,
to
consider
ARM
as
a
guarantor
of
the
security.
Buckovski
said
that
one
of
the
Government's
priorities
was
restoring
and
strengthening
of
the
mutual
understanding
and
trust
between
Macedonia's
citizens,
regardless
of
their
ethnic
origin.
Two
hundred
and
forty
attendants
of
the
course
were
promoted
into
non-commissioned
officers.
A
hundred
and
twenty-seven
of
them
are
Macedonians,
101
ethnic
Albanians,
3
Turks,
2
Romas
and
the
rest
are
of
others
ethnic
communities.
