Macedonian
President
Boris
Trajkovski
was
born
on
25
June
1956
in
Strumica,
Republic
of
Macedonia.
Married,
wife
Vilma,
father
of
two
children,
daughter
Sara
and
son
Stefan.
Law
degree
(1980)
from
the
Faculty
of
Law
in
Skopje,
University
"St.
Cyril
and
Methodius",
Republic
of
Macedonia.
Specialised
in
Commercial
Law
and
Employment
Law.
Several
study
visits
to
the
USA.
He
was
Deputy-Minister
of
Foreign
Affairs
of
the
Republic
of
Macedonia,
since
21
December
1998;
Chief
of
the
Cabinet
of
the
Major
of
the
municipality
Kisela
Voda
in
Skopje
(1997-1998);
until
1997,
Head
of
the
Legal
Department
of
the
Construction
Company
"Sloboda"
in
Skopje.
He
was
the
Chairman
of
the
Foreign
Relations'
Commission
of
the
VMRO-DPMNE
party;
Chief
Political
Adviser
on
foreign
policy
to
Mr.
Ljubco
Georgievski,
President
of
the
Government
of
the
Republic
of
Macedonia
and
of
the
VMRO-DPMNE
party;
Member
of
Presidency
of
the
NGO:
the
Pan-European
Movement
for
the
Republic
of
Macedonia,
as
well
as
of
Macedonian-Croatian
Society
of
friendship;
Member
of
the
International
Conference
"Conflict
Resolution"
in
Atlanta,
USA;
President
of
Church
Council
of
the
United
Methodist
Church;
Participation
at
numerous
international
conferences
involving
conflict
resolution,
religious
tolerance,
religious
freedom,
President
of
Youth
Work
in
the
United
Methodist
Church
in
the
former
Yugoslavia
for
over
12
years.
President
Boris
Trajkovski
was
inaugurated
as
the
second
President
of
the
Republic
of
Macedonia
on
December
15,
1999.
Since
taking
office,
President
Trajkovski
has
been
an
active
on
international
level.
He
has
traveling
to
many
countries
in
the
Europe
and
the
world
where
he
has
had
one-on-one
meetings
with
heads
of
government
and
heads
of
state.
He
has
given
over
numerous
speeches
at
international
forums
as
the
World
Economic
Summit
in
Davos,
the
Council
of
Europe,
the
United
Nations
and
the
South
East
European
Co-operation
Process
as
well
as
both
parliaments
in
several
countries.
Commitments
of
the
President
Trajkovski
are
oriented
to
greater
co-operation
and
promoting
of
the
relations
of
Republic
of
Macedonia
with
all
countries
in
the
world.
At
home,
President
Trajkovski
maintains
good
relations
with
Government
and
Assembly
of
the
Republic,
with
political
parties
and
associations,
as
well
as
ambassadors
and
representatives
of
foreign
countries
and
organisations
based
in
Macedonia.
President
Trajkovski
has
been
active
in
reaching
out
to
the
people
of
Macedonia.
He
has
traveling
throughout
the
country,
listening
to
and
talking
with
citizens,
introducing
directly
with
their
daily
problems.

CONSTITUTION

PERFORMANCE
OF
PRESIDENTIAL
DUTIES
IN
CASE
OF
ACCIDENT
Article
82
In
case
of
death,
resignation,
permanent
inability
to
perform
his/her
duties,
or
in
case
of
termination
of
the
mandate
in
accordance
with
the
provisions
of
the
Constitution,
the
office
of
the
President
of
the
Republic
is
carried
out
by
the
President
of
the
Assembly
until
the
election
of
the
new
President.
Decisions
on
the
applicability
of
the
conditions
for
the
occasion
of
the
office
of
the
President
of
the
Republic
are
the
official
duty
of
the
Constitutional
Court.
Should
the
President
of
the
Republic
be
temporarily
unable
to
preform
his/her
duties,
the
President
of
the
Assembly
deputies
for
him/her.
While
the
President
of
the
Assembly
is
performing
the
office
of
President
of
the
Republic,
he/she
takes
part
in
the
work
of
the
Assembly
without
the
right
to
vote.
Article
81
Should
the
term
of
office
of
the
President
of
the
Republic
be
terminated
for
any
reason,
the
election
of
a
new
President
takes
place
within
40
days
from
the
day
of
termination.
