"For
none
of
the
Macedonians
in
the
world
August
2
is
not
only
a
date
in
the
calendar,
but
a
place
in
the
heart.
It
is
all
Macedonian
imaginations
collected
with
centuries
in
a
day
symbol
-
Ilinden,
triumph
of
the
will,
readiness
to
sacrifice
and
devotion
of
tens
and
tens
of
generations,"
Macedonian
President
Branko
Crvenkovski
addressed
in
Pelince
regarding
the
60th
anniversary
of
ASNOM.
"Once
again,
as
a
nation
and
a
real
state,
we
are
in
front
of
historical
crossroad.
A
real
road
should
be
chosen,
i.e.
a
road
which
will
predetermine
our
future…
Europe
integrates
and
unites
today
and
establishes
joint
rules
of
playing,
according
to
which
everyone
lose
something,
but
they
all
together
get.
The
choice
is
whether
we
will
become
a
part
of
such
process
with
all
obligations
emerging,
or
we
will
take
self-imposed
isolation
in
conviction
that
in
21st
century
we
are
going
to
finish
those
matters
that
the
other
people
have
already
worked
out
in
19th
century,"
Crvenkovski
said.
He
reminded
that
ASNOM's
urges,
which
were
built
in
the
documents
in
1944,
talked
about
freedom,
equality,
brotherhood,
unity
and
communion.
"We
have
begun
the
20th
century
with
a
fight
for
our
own
country.
We
end
the
century
with
our
own
country.
The
history
does
not
stop
here.
We
should
define
future
goals
and
priorities.
The
European
fight
for
national
states
and
national
identities
has
already
finished.
We
have
already
won
the
battle,
but
it
will
not
change
the
global
trends,"
Crvenkovski
said.
"There
is
no
stronger
rampart,
no
higher
guarantee
for
the
unitary
character,
for
complete
and
territorial
integrity,
for
Macedonian
identity,
prosperity
and
welfare
of
our
citizens
than
EU
and
NATO
membership,"
Crvenkovski
added.
