Two
days
of
national
mourning
began
on
Monday
in
Russia
for
the
335
killed
in
last
week's
bloody
school
siege
in
Beslan
as
at
least
377
injured
remain
in
hospital.
The
official
death
toll
has
been
revised
to
335,
down
three
from
Sunday.
As
Russian
Deputy-Chief
Prosecutor,
Sergey
Fridinskiy
stated,
32
terrorists
participated
in
the
hostage
crisis,
while
the
bodies
of
30
have
been
found.
They
seized
control
of
the
school
on
the
first
day
of
the
new
academic
year
on
Wednesday,
forcing
over
1,000
children
and
adults
into
the
gymnasium,
which
was
wired
with
explosives
–
including
bombs
hanging
from
basketball
hoops.
The
siege
of
more
than
1,000
hostages
in
the
North
Ossetian
town
of
Beslan,
was
the
latest
in
a
wave
of
violent
attacks
in
Russia,
all
blamed
on
Chechen
separatists.
Two
passenger
planes
were
brought
down
almost
simultaneously
and
a
suicide
bomber
killed
10
people
near
a
central
Moscow
metro
station.
