"Macedonian
Center",
established
by
Vlado
and
Nevenka
Ivanovski
and
Gorazd
Popovski,
has
been
opened
in
New
York.
The
Macedonian
Center
has
the
objective
to
present,
support
and
promote
Macedonian
art
and
culture,
and
serve
as
liaison
office
with
USA.
The
Macedonian
Center
in
New
York
is
located
on
an
entire
floor
in
the
center
of
Manhattan,
with
500m2
space,
encompassing
two
galleries,
offices
and
rooms
for
guest
accommodation.
During
the
visit
of
Macedonian
Minister
of
Culture,
Blagoj
Stefanovski
at
the
icon
exhibition
in
the
Metropolitan
Museum
in
New
York,
the
Macedonian
Center
reached
an
agreement
with
the
Ministry
of
Culture
for
presentation
of
Macedonian
art
in
USA.
Therefore,
the
formal
opening
of
the
gallery
space
will
be
held
in
the
period
September
22-25,
entitled
"Presentation
of
Macedonian
Culture
in
New
York",
with
the
attendance
of
numerous
people
from
New
York's
cultural
and
social
life,
politicians,
as
well
as
Macedonian
President
Branko
Crvenkovski.
The
central
gallery
will
display
Macedonian
wedding
carpets,
along
with
a
concert
of
Macedonian
pianist
Ilinka
Manova,
band
"Ljubojna"
and
presentation
of
book
"World
on
Film
'Before
the
Rain'
of
Milco
Mancevski".
The
chamber
gallery
will
include
an
exhibition
of
academic
painter
Reshat
Ameti,
while
performance
"Money
Kills"
by
Risto
Krle
will
be
held
in
theatre
"Ensemble
Studio
Theatre",
which
is
located
in
the
same
building
with
the
Macedonian
Center.
