FINEXPO 2002 opens in Skopje

Macedonian Information Agency (Dec 12, 2002, 2:52:44 AM (GMT+01:00)) (MIA)  SKOPJE, Macedonia - Deputy Finance Minister Dimko Kokarovski opened Monday the First International Fair of Finance and Business Opportunities FINEXPO 2002, which will be held under the motto "The Future is a Challenge" until December 11 in Skopje.

Kokarovski welcomed the initiative for organizing the fair manifestation and expressed hope that the financial experiences, which will be presented in the next three days will contribute toward the Macedonian reforms, as well as the creation of conetmporary monetary, fiscal, credit and banking system compatible with the one of the European Union.

Speaking of the financial reforms aimed at enhancing the trust of the citizens and legal entities in the financial markets and institutions, he said that in order to achieve that goal it was necessary to develop adequate regulations, efficient control and supervision over the financial institutions, expert personnel in the banks and technical equipment.

Kokarovski emphasized the significance of the reforms in the banking sector, adding that their transformation was not satisfactory.

The Fair will present Macedonia's financial demand and supply, the investment opportunities, the services of the financial sector and will promote the financial institutions to the foreign companies and financiers.

The manifestation will be held in two halls, covering an area of 3,000 square meters, and is comprised of commercial exhibitions and educational presentations.

Several banks, saving banks, brokerage houses, business consultants, insurance companies, funds and foundations, state and international financial institutions, companies offering IT solutions for e - banking as well as publishers of professional and educational magazines and books will be present at the fair.

It is expected FINEXPO to become traditional manifestation with high reputation in the financial sphere, thus offering an affirmation to the Macedonian companies.
