Parliament passes supplements to law on civil servants

Macedonian Information Agency (Sep 29, 2004) (MIA) - Macedonian Parliament on Wednesday passed the Law on Supplements to the Law on Public Servants with 59 votes "for."

The legal framework will provide implementation of Amendment 6 of the Constitution, which establishes the principle of appropriate and equal representation of citizens from all communities in state organisations and public institutions at each state level.

The Law enables representatives of the minority communities in Macedonia, i.e. high-school or college graduates, if they finish the training successfully, to find a job in the organisations quoted in the Law without public announcement.

In the previous period the Government supported by the European Agency for Reconstruction and according to the training programme for skilled administrative civil servants, members of the communities for work in civil service, has organized a training for 600 persons, members of the communities, for job positions from the group of skilled administrative civil servants.
