League changes in Macedonia

Siljanovski Network (Dec 22, 2003) - The Macedonian Football Federatiom (FFM) has approved some changes to the country's league structure for the 2004/05 season at its annual general meeting in Skopje.

The top flight will continue to contain 12 clubs, while the second division will be reduced from 18 to 12 teams. At the end of each season the bottom two teams in the First Division will be automatically relegated and replaced by the second division winners and runners-up.

The clubs finishing ninth and tenth in the 12-team top-flight will also respectively play-off against the third and fourth-placed second division sides for a place among the élite.
